Fuji Japanese Music is a traditional Japanese music troupe founded and headed by instructor Mariko Watabe. She gives individual lessons of each categories as well as overall understanding and interaction of Japanese classical performing arts, shamisen, songs, hayashi, and dance.
Students can learn to play the shamisen and sing in the Nagauta music style (Kineya Kichitoji) , Yamatogaku music style (Kyosho Yamato), as well as learn to play Hayashi (Katada Kimisen), the kotsuzumi, okawa, taiko, and etc. She also teaches Bando-ryu Nihon Buyo dance (Bando Marifuji). You will learn how to work shamisen with hayashi and dance, hayashi with shamisen and dance, and Dance with live music. She teaches at three locations in the United States as well as giving zoom lessons to the students in Seatle and Florida.
